Volunteer at MountainStar

Volunteers are integral to our organization! Below you will find a list of volunteer opportunities that are typically available and our volunteer spotlight. If you are interested in getting involved, fill out the form below to get started.

New classroom volunteers and/or interns are required to have an informal, one-hour training before they begin.  These are held every last Wednesday of the month at our Bend campus, from 2:00-3:00pm :  2125 NE Daggett Lane

MountainStar LOVES its volunteers!

See how YOU can get involved!

This weekly calendar is an example of our classroom schedules (each site varies slightly).

Once you’ve gone through the onboarding process, you will select a shit from across our five locations: La Pine, Bend, Redmond, Madras, and Prineville.

Volunteer Spotlight

Our Wednesday Development Dream Team

Every Wednesday, you can count on seeing three familiar faces making a difference at MountainStar: Pam Pytlak, Jenny Chesley, and Robin Provancher

Our Wednesday Development Dream Team generously dedicates their time to supporting projects big and small. Whether they're entering data, organizing MountainStar’s food pantry, helping with Birdies 4 Babies preparations, or jumping into whatever task needs attention, they do it all with enthusiasm, flexibility, and a smile.

Their willingness to step in wherever needed saves our team countless hours.  Beyond the practical support they provide, Pam, Jenny, and Robin bring a sense of joy and encouragement simply by showing up each week.

“I feel so welcome and appreciated at MountainStar. I’m already building friendships I know will last for many years.” — Jenny Chesley

Jenny's words beautifully capture what makes this volunteer team so special. While they are making a meaningful impact on MountainStar, they've also created their own community through service.

“When I decided to volunteer, I was looking for an organization that supported children. MountainStar truly accomplishes this, as well as supporting the family and, in turn, the future of our community. I've made some new friends as well, which is a cherished bonus.” — Robin Provancher

Robin's experience reflects the heart of MountainStar's mission – strengthening families, supporting children, and building a healthier community for generations to come. It's a beautiful reminder that volunteering doesn't just change lives; it creates meaningful connections along the way.

Pam, Jenny, and Robin – thank you for your dedication, compassion, and the many ways you help to keep kids safe!  We simply adore you. 💜
